Dance of Disruption
Poem by Jane Deluzio
Poem by Jane Deluzio
My heart is often filled with worry.
Busy hands calm me.
Stop my heart from overflowing with sadness and anxiety.
My heart is often filled with others’ pain.
Busy hands calm me.
Stretch my heart so that it will not burst or break.

But my heart fills with joy when I dance.
My freed hands move in harmony with my heart.
Touching everything I feel.
Seeking. Reaching. Healing.
Gratefully I dance in harmony with my soul.
I dance my ever-changing never-changing truths.
Dancing hands and dancing heart.
Body and soul as one.
Duet of tentative survival.
